The evening takes on a Latin flair with the addition of the Estaciones Porteñas (Four Seasons of Buenos Aires) to round out the program. Stay for a drink and mingle with fellow concert-goers after the conclusion of the concert. |

Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 7:30pm LOCATION Pequot Library 720 Pequot Avenue, Southport, CT 06890 Festival Edelio closes its first post-COVID season with an evening of chamber masterworks. The rarely-performed first trio of Dmitry Shostakovich celebrates its centennial this year; written when the composer was a mere 16 year-old, it links the romanticism of youth with the menacing foreboding of a more tumultuous time, already showing glimpses of the unorthodox genius that would define classical music in the 20th century. After intermission, the festive E-flat major Dvorak piano quartet, replete with rich folk melodies and rhythms, will cap off this evening of chamber gems! |
